Look at him out there without a jacket!! Oh well, the man is from Maine originally, so I guess he knows what really being cold is all about!!

Our Furbaby, Munchkin
Just a typical evening in the Heim household! Hubby watching TV and Munchkin sleeping in his lap. Such a sleepy kitty, I wonder what he has been doing all day to make him so tired? Hmmm............

**Waves Hello!!**
Hi!! Just a quick little note to say "HI" ! Busy, busy, busy this time of year!!! I just love it!! Secret hideaways, whispered phone conversations with my mother, chasing the cats because they feel the must swat at every decoration on the tree, my husband looking in the cookie jar, only to find it empty.... Aww poor hubby...don't worry ladies, the cookie jar is empty because he ate all the cookies I just made!!! What a cookie monster he is!!!
Well, off to work..Mom is doing great and feeling so much better!! Thank you for all the well wishes, they are truley appreciated!!

I am back!!!
Sorry I have been MIA the last several weeks. Work has been brutal, and my Mom has been having some health issues. She is on an upward trend and feeling better, I just hope it continues.
She just recently retired (in Feb) and I wonder just a little bit if maybe she is just not knowing what to do with herself. She lives alone, about 30 minutes from me, we talk everyday and we spend Saturdays together, but I work full time and so does my daughter. I also think she is just a little bit lonely. What to do, what to do.................I have been off this week and she seems so much better and much more like her old self. I will keep you posted. Thanks for reading this far!
Well, I made myself this happy little Christmas calendar with FlickrToys, and boy is it cute. Elizabeth from Creatively Breathing posted one of her vintage Christmas cards on Flickr for paper crafting. Well I am NOT a paper crafter and I ENVY you ladies who are so talented! So, I needed a December Calendar for my PC Desktop and here it is..TADAAAAAA!!!
Dripping with cuteness don't you think?

Quiet Weekend
This weekend has been very quiet. The weather has turned cooler and drier, and the air smells like fall to me. It is about time!!! It has been so stinkin' hot here on the West Coast of Florida. My husband has spent the better part of this weekend watching movies, he has an extensive collection of DVD's, and he has watched probably 10 movies since Saturday Morning, and he is still watching them. At least I know where he is!! LOL!!! I have been just puttering around, watching TV in the other room and working on some crochet projects, just some small ones, and playing on Flickr and checking out my other social networking groups online. Not a bad way to spend the weekend if I do say so myself!!! My in-laws live in SouthWest Virgina, the picture in this post is of several of the trees on the back of their property...I so miss the changing of the seasons especially this time of year. Hope you all have had a relaxing weekend!!

Another Milestone
This is my darling daughter, she will be graduating from Nursing School this December.
Have you ever heard the saying, "Don't count how may breathes you take, but count the moments that take your breathe away"?
Well, today was a "take your breath away moment" for me. I was not aware of this, but there is a "big to-do" upon graduating from Nursing School, it is called a "Pinning". The Professor told the students that traditionally a family member is bestowed the honor of pinning the newly graduated RN.
My daughter asked me to "Pin" her!!!! I got goosebumps all over!!! I still have to fight back tears when I think about her asking me. Of course I said yes!!
She has worked so hard for this and I am so proud of her. This is her dream come true!!

Summer In Florida
It has already been such a lllooonnnnggggg hot summer here in West Central Florida. We spent several weeks already in the high 90's to mid 100's and that was in late June and early July. I shudder to think what August and September will bring. It has also been unusual in that our daily round of thunderstorms have come in the morning and early afternoon, as opposed to late and early evening. This unusual pattern makes for much more humid afternoons.........sigh.
Well, here is to another day of early rain, humidity, and unbearable heat!
Have a great week-end!!

Monstah Lobstah!!!!
This is my kind of lobster!!! This picture was taken at Faniuel Hall in Boston, MA. This was my first visit to MA, and I had a great time. We arrived in time to tour the Tall Ships too. We were in MA for 7 days and my husband ate lobster for dinner for four of those days, but he is from MA, so I guess that is okay.
Aren't these little guys cute? I won't eat the real thing, so this will have to suffice!!

Giraffe #3
This is Giraffe number 3....this was a special request from a co-worker, she picked the colors, which complimented one another perfectly!!
Giraffe #2
Carrie liked Gavin's Giraffe so much, she hinted that she might like one in her colors of robins egg blue and chocolate. So, being the wonderful friend that I am, I made this cute little creature. She now lives happily in Carrie's bedroom snuggled in with the pillows!!!
Gavin thinks this is his too!!!

Christmas Tapestry Doily
Here is the finished Christmas Tapestry doily. The points look a little "off". I think I am going to have to block it again, otherwise, I am quite pleased with the results. I am glad I went with the white as the main color and red and green as accents. Well off to finish my next project!!
