Happy Fall Y'all!!!

I just love Fall!!! I know, I know, the first day of fall is not until September 23rd, but I just seem to go into Fall mode on September 1st. I finally got my dear husband to get in the attic and bring down the goodies. I made a mosaic of my Fall scenery that is on a shelf above my kitchen sink. I also decorate it for Christmas. Here goes, please let me know what you think!!!
I have a little something as you leave the house too..........
I so love this...If the Shoe Fits, wear it!!! See the witches feet in the cauldron?

Crochet Rose Ripple Pillow

I have been on a bit of a pillow kick here lately. This pattern is from a free pattern on the Red Heart website. This one also worked up quickly and was fairly easy. I used RedHeart yarn is frosty green, although the picture does not do the color justice, this is beautiful. (if I do say so myself, lol) I have one more pillow pattern I want to make and then hopefully my pillow fetish will be fulfilled!

Crochet Basketweave Pattern

I just finished this today, my husband put in a request for a pillow for his recliner. The pattern is from the Leisure Arts Book Aran Pillows to Crochet. There are several designs, this one is called Basket Weave, and measures 12 x 12 inches. I am not sure of the name of the color as the skein was in my stash and the band was missing(how does that happen?). The pattern was very easy and worked up very quickly.

My Precious Gift

This photo was taken in 1988 and she was 2 years old. Her Daddy was in the Navy so she loved to wear her Sailor Dress! This is one of my most precious pictures of her, she was such a sweet little girl, she once brought home a baby squirrel that had fallen out of its nest (much to my horror) because it needed a mommy. She had it in a shoe box with leaves and Spanish Moss. She was always bringing home some kind of injured, lost, or just plain cute creature. She has not changed much over these 25 years, she is nurturing, compasionate and most of all the kindest person I think I know.

Lord only knows what I did to deserve such a precious gift. The one thing I do know is that my life was changed forever the day she was born, and I can't imagine one single day without her beautiful smile.

I was listening to the morning News, as I alway do; A woman was killed today crossing a busy intersection not far from my husbands place of business. It was a horrible accident; no ones fault. I did not think too much about it as I got ready for work and went on my way.
My husband called me a few hours later and asked me if I had heard about the accident, I said yes, what about it?
"Well honey, you remember Kim? She has been with me for the last 10 years? Well that was her that was killed this morning. I called her Sister because she was late for work and I was worried, the Police were just arriving and breaking the news to the family."
Life is a gift, live it to the fullest, love to the fullest, live each day like it is your last.
I learned a very important lesson yesterday, thank you for letting my share it with you.

Fantastic Flickr Fav's!!

I (like alot of us) like to poke around Flickr to see what everyone is crocheting. The color combinations, the use of motifs, and the creativity of the community is just amazing and a never ending source of inspiration. Sometimes I spend more time "poking around" and very little time crocheting. Below are some of the beautiful items I found today and wanted to share with you.

Aren't those ladybugs too cute?

Cotton Candy aka Peach Taffy

Cotton Candy

Anyway, this is the Peach Taffy pattern but since I only have dolls with pink hair, I had to improvise on her dress. I think she still turned out really cute! Her dress reminded me of the cotton candy you used to get at the fair, you know the bag of yellow, pink, lavender and blue? These little doll faces are just the cutest little things.

Well off to finish another WIP, or unfinished project! I am going to try and clean up the WIP basket(s)....lol...............

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star......

Here I have my version of "The Royal Sisters" ( clickie to go to pattern) Grandma Twinkle Garland!! The pattern is free on her website and the tutorial is plain as day, and extremely easy to follow. I made the stars in one evening and did a single chain crochet to string them together. So much Fun!!!! I love Summer and all the festivites such as Memorial Day, Flag Day, 4th of July and of course the unoffical end of Summer, Labor Day!! I will leave my Garland up all Summer and hope to add a few more red, white and blue goodies!

Please check my Flickr link on the right to see more photo's of the Grandma Twinkle Garland!!

Chacchoben Mayan Ruins

We are back from our vacation, and we had a great time. I would like to share some photos of the places we visited while we were cruisin' through the Caribbean. The first photos I would like to share are of the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins in Mexico. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would see these most wonderous ancient ruins in person. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about the history under my feet. Please enjoy!

Fancy Sunflower

Even though I live in Florida and winters are a far cry from what most of the Country experiences with snow, ice & freezing rain; I am ready for Spring and warmer weather. Because of the heat here in Florida I can plant Sunflowers in the Spring and early Summer. So until I can plant some Sunflowers, I will crochet them!!! This pattern is from an old Annies Attic monthly mini book, I can't remember which one, I have made this pattern so many times over the years that it is embedded in my little brain...Please meet Miss Fancy Sunflower and her friend!

Just a quickie dishcloth for Valentines Day!! The pattern is from the Lily website and is free, you do have to register to get the free patterns, but well worth the little bit of time it takes. I have been away too long..............

Hello friends!! I have been out of the "loop" for a little while, but I am hoping to spend some more time here in blogland! I will be updating the look of my space here on the internet and I am hoping to post a few new projects very soon.

I am hopelessy addicted to Facebook and I am really trying to break away from it. I spend WAY too much time (or should I say "waste" so much time?) there.

Lots of cold temps out there, please stay warm and stay safe, the temps are dangerously low up North...................
